Thanks again to Emma for this write up on The South of England show, held 11th - 13th June '15.
Ardingly in West Sussex, is the home of the South of England show. Despite being unseasonably cold and windy on the first day, we all had a good time. The show are always very welcoming and we would encourage you all to try the show.
Lops has their own classes, being judged on day 1 by Ann Uglow.
The Goosetree herd were out in full force and began their day with a win for their July boar, Goosetree Duke 4. In the junior boars, Emma and Mark Edgar managed a 1st with Bakers Ben 2 and a second with Bakers Cornishman 2, with the Ardens taking 3rd with Goosetree Charles. Goosetree Duke 4 went on to take the male championship.
In the females the sow class went to Goosetree Sunshine 4, the July class to Goosetree Sunshine 21 and Goosetree Thatcher 2 in second. The January class saw a few more pigs, with 1st going to Goosetree Thatcher 3, 2nd to Bakers Acress 35 and 3rd to Bakers Queen 2.
Kim and Barrys' little January went on to steal the female championship from the sow and then took breed champion, with Goosetree Duke 4 in reserve position.
The group of 3 prize went to the Edgars with their 3 Januaries.
The second day of showing, under the watchful gaze of Steve Loveless saw Goosetree Thatcher 3 take the reserve interbreed.
In the pig of the year heats, she held her own again, taking the reserve slot. A great show for the Ardens.

The lop of the year qualifications went to:
Bakers Ben 2 and Gossetree Thatcher 3.
