New 2022 AGM WITH A VENUE FIT FOR A CENTENARY (2020!)

2020 was the Centenary year for the British Lop Pig Society and we found a great venue to hold the AGM. We wanted a hotel venue in the Westcountry, as the society did many years ago. Sadly, as we are all too aware a Pandemic hit the Country and things have been on hold for the last 2 years.
We have now agreed to push forward with plans to hold our delayed Centenary year in 2022 with the British Lop Council, Royal Three Counties Show and the Lord Haldon Hotel all on board.
The Lord Haldon Hotel, Exeter is the chosen location, with its grand countryside appeal, ample parking and competitively priced rooms for those staying.
The 2022 event will not simply be an important AGM meeting
After the AGM meeting, we will follow with a lovely 3-course meal and the opportunity for guests travelling or enjoying a drink to be able to stay. We wanted to create a sociable event with an opportunity to catch up and relax with members from across the country. An altogether more pleasurable experience than facing the battle of a sometimes-long journey home in the car.
So please do join us for this special Centenary event. Planned arrival is 3.30pm for a 4pm start. Our AGM is anticipated to take around 2 hours with dinner served at 6.30pm.
Guest are expected to pay for rooms and we have negotiated a preferential bed and breakfast rate with the hotel at £80 single and £95 double. Simply reference the British Lop meeting when making your reservation. We have a selection of rooms on hold so do be quick.
Dinner will cost £25 per head for the 3 courses and again guests are expected to settle this directly with the hotel.
It will be very important that we receive your information in advance for those attending the meeting and in particular staying for dinner.

For those who may not have attended one of our AGM’s before they present a good opportunity to hear about recent society activity, future plans, financial position and then an opportunity to thrash out any new ideas. At this AGM we will also be voting in all officers of the society which offers the chance for change with members voting in new members to the council. We have a couple of resignations from council so there are the opportunities to invite some new faces into the fold even if our existing officers remain in post. It all takes place quite quickly and is a great opportunity to catch up with likeminded advocates of the breed; all are incredibly welcome and as we launch our Centenary year it would be fantastic to see you all there.

Our Centenary Show celebrations are shaping up well for June 17th – 19th at Royal Three Counties.

Each exhibitor gets a centenary show board. These will look a true spectacle in the ring – we cannot wait.
Exhibitors will also receive a 2” Sterling Silver British Lop Commemorative Centenary Coin. Further coins to be competed for and awarded to Centenary Champion, Reserve Champion Male and Female Champions too.
These coins have been beautifully crafted to replicate the coins awarded of the 1930’s.
More details will follow on the great generosity of our sponsors to help make this event happen. With some fantastic show classes on the Friday followed by a friendly BBQ (tba) hosted by your usual British Lop show enthusiasts it is a must visit event and all are welcome.
