AGM 2020 Saturday April 18th

AGM 2020 Saturday April 18th

It is our Centenary year and we are celebrating with our AGM meeting on Saturday April 18th at the Lord Haldon Country hotel in Exeter.

This year’s event will not simply be an important AGM meeting

After this year's AGM meeting we will follow it with a lovely 3 course meal with the opportunity for guests travelling or enjoying a drink to be able to stay. We wanted to create a sociable event with an opportunity to catch up and relax with members from all across the country. An altogether more pleasurable experience than facing the battle of a sometimes long journey home in the car.

So please do join us for this special centenary event. Planned arrival is 3.30pm for a 4pm start. Our AGM is anticipated to take around 2 hours with dinner served at 6.30pm.

Guest are expected to pay for rooms and we have negotiated a preferential bed and breakfast rate with the hotel at £80 single and £95 double. Simply reference the British Lop meeting when making your reservation. We have a selection of rooms only on hold until the end of February so do be quick.

Dinner will cost £25 per head for the 3 courses and again guests are expected to settle this directly with the hotel.

It will be very important that we receive your information in advance for those attending the meeting and in particular staying for dinner. Celia, our secretary, will be sending out forms for you shortly to return.

For those who may not have attended one of our AGM’s before they are normally a quick run through of the year’s events with a brief view at the financial position and then an opportunity to thrash out any new ideas. It all takes place quite quickly and is a great opportunity to catch up with likeminded advocates of the breed; all are incredibly welcome and as we launch our Centenary year it would be fantastic to see you all there.

Come to the AGM to hear about big plans for the Centenary Show
Our Centenary Show celebrations are shaping up really well for June 12th at Royal Three Counties.

Our sponsors have been incredibly generous. Towergate Farm Insurance is our main event sponsor, supported by key sponsors, Deerpark Pedigree Pigs, Massey Feeds, Harpers Feed and Francis Clarke accountants.

Supporting sponsors include, Lloyds Bank, Sita Suez, J.V. Richards Rietfontein, Melton Mowbray Market, Trevaskis Farm, P.G. Snell and sons, Carole Barr, J Collings and Lodge and Thomas Chartered Surveyors.

Lots of great prizes await those Lop enthusiasts in the ring
Each exhibitor gets a centenary show board. These will look a true spectacle in the ring - we can not wait.

Exhibitors will also receive a 2” Sterling Silver British Lop Commemorative Centenary Coin. Further coins to be competed for and awarded to Centenary Champion, Reserve Champion Male and Female Champions too.

More details will follow on the great generosity of our sponsors to help make this event happen. With some fantastic show classes on the Friday followed by a friendly BBQ hosted by your usual British Lop show enthusiasts it is a must visit event and all are welcome. Please express your interest with our secretary and get involved in any way you feel you can. We will be raising funds for the publication of our Centenary Book soon and we are still welcoming contributions to the society funds for the Centenary event.
