Results from the Royal Cornwall Show 2017

This year’s Royal Cornwall Show saw a whopping 36 British Lop entries. The Eustice Family, John Flay and The Collings Family all helped to achieve a record entry for the show with 261 pigs entered in total!
Judge for the day was Mr Richard Brown from Lancashire.
To start the show was the July boar class, won by Giles Eustice with a well grown boar in Bezurrell General 20. Following on were the Boars born in 2017, with a strong class of 10, dominated by the Collings family taking the first 4 prizes with Liskeard General 19th taking 1st place.
In the sow class, Knighton Queen, from the Callings family took 1st place, with Giles Eustice taking 2nd with Bezurrell Harmony 6.
A very strong class of 6 July gilts participated this year but Giles Eustice’s Bezurrel Actresses shone through taking all of the prizes in the class! Bezurrell actress 370 took first place with Actress 385, 386 and 374 following respectively. The strongest class of the day was the Gilts born in 2017, with 12 put forward for judging. 1st and 2nd went to the Collings family with Liskeard Lulu 30th and Liskeard Lulu 29th, who are both full sisters to the boar available for sale at Deerpark. 3rd went to Liskeard Sunshine 535th and 4th was awarded to another Bezurrell Actress.
On to the champion classes; Reserve Male Champion was taken by Giles with Bezurrell General 20 and Male Champion was won by Liskeard General 19th who also went on to take Reserve Breed Champion!
Female Champion and Breed Champion was won by the January gilt from the Collings family; Liskeard Lulu 30th. Bezurrell actress 370 took the Reserve Female Champion prize. Meaning the Bezurrell Cup once again headed back to Launceston with the Collings family.
