British Lops at The Royal Cornwall Show 2013

Royal Cornwall results....lovely weather was experienced for the show; in such contrast to last year!

Julian Collings had another superb show taking first place in the July Gilt class with Liskeard Pride 144th and 1st in the senior boar class with Liskeard Supreme 7th, who then went on to become male champion.

Liskeard Supreme 7th also went on to become best traditional male in the Pig of the Year classes and will now be off to Yorkshire show!

Emma Collings showed her Liskeard Lulu 9th in the sow or gilt born before July 12 class, she was placed in second place but competently went on to take reserve female champion and outcompete Julian’ boar to take reserve breed champion....well done Emma.

Giles Eustice did manage to retain the Bezurrell family Cup by taking the sow class and overall breed champion with his Bezurrell Actress 248th 2010 born sow.

Also new to showing this year were Steve and Claudia Berryman and what a great start they had. Polglase Duke taking first place in the January Boar class, going on to take reserve male champion then taking a reserve place at the Lop of the Year class to be held at Melton Mowbray in September

Their January Gilt Polglase actress 2 took first place and also went on to become a female lop of the year reserve qualifier and they  took second place in the January class with Polglase actress

There was a great number of British Lops at the show this year, coupled with a lot of new interest from other breeders, more qualifiers for Yorkshire and Melton Mowbray; so all in all a great show for the Lops!
