South of England Show Results

Once again, a huge thanks to the Edgars for the following write up on the South of England Show '16
On Thursday the 9th June, the British Lops were put before John Millard from Cambridgeshire at the South of England Show.
The show, which runs for three days, in Ardingly, Sussex, is one that we very much look forward to. The chief steward Doug and his team make us extremely welcome, and run a very efficient section; we were pleased to have our own breed section as enough exhibitors entered.
We kicked off with the senior boars, where Hayley Lake took the prize with Guist Charles, who went on take the male championship. There were three junior boars forward, with a win for Bakers Ben 3, a second for Goosetree Charles 2 and a third for Bakers Ben 4. Bakers Ben 3 stood reserve boar champion.
In the female section, our sow Bakers Queen won, going on to be female champion and overall breed champion. The July gilt class was won by her daughter Bakers Queen 3.
The September class, was won by Guist Actress 3 and the final January class by Bakers Harmony 38, who took reserve female champion and reserve breed champion. The LOY qualifiers were Guist Charles and Bakers Harmony 38.
Day two under Alan Rose saw a fiercely contended pairs class, where our February born pair took second place. On the third day, we have a bit of fun, with Piggy Pranks - the obstacle course were no match for our July gilt, who flew round to the great entertainment of the crowd. This was a great demonstration of a Lop at speed rather than the usual casual approach that they have to life.
Thanks again to Emma Edgar for the following photos of Mark nagivating the obstacle course!
