24 June 2016
Thanks to Emma Edgar, who attended Suffolk Show with her British Lop's and for providing us with the following write up;
This years Suffolk Show, took place on the 1st and 2nd June. The weather was against us to say the least, but Ann Uglow braved the elements, to judge us on the first day. The classes run as white breeds and coloured breeds.
Hayley Lake took the senior boar prize, with Guist Charles 2nd. In the January boars, Mark and Emma Edgar took first with Bakers Ben 3 and second with a February born boar, Bakers Ben 4. The sows were up next and once again, the Lops held their own, with a win for Bakers Queen.
In the July class, Guist Harmony 33 was the winner with Hayley’s other gilt, Guist Lulu 3 in second place and in the September class, Guist Actress 2 took first prize. The last class was the January gilt class, where the Edgars took second with Bakers Harmony 38. The champion white pig was awarded to the sow, Bakers Queen.
The Lop of the year qualifying boar was awarded to Bakers Ben 3, who also took the Pig of the Year qualification. The female Lop of the year qualification went to Guist Harmony 33.
What a great start to the season for British Lops!
